Dance teacher, choreographer and creative director at Reflex Dance Studios
Giulia Settomini began her dance career at the age of 3, taking part in dance shows and performances in a dancesport society since she was a child. At the age of 7 she started to compete in ballroom and Latin American dance. She took up a career as a dancer and at the age of 14 she reached the highest international class “S” in Latin dance. At the age of 17 she ranked third overall in Youth class in Italy.
Afterwards she got in the semi-final of the Italian Championship in the Adult class with her partner Stefano Vidoni (watch them dancing rumba here) with whom she also ranked in the first 50 positions in the World Dance IDSF Ranking List.
She took part in many IDSF international events across Europe, achieving significant results such as 1° place to the Rising Star competition in Maribor, 4° place in the Under 21 Imperial Open Championship in London, 3° place in Marsiglia (2009), 4° place in Bassano del Grappa (2009) and many others.
In addition to the important agonistic career guided by the international coach Carolyn Smith with the contribution of great masters like Alberto Pregnolato, Alan Fletcher, Karen Hardy, Benedetto Capraro and Marta Faiola, Giulia Settomini developed her artistic sk
ills taking part in many shows and choreographies from Grease, Chicago, Hairspray, Moulin Rouge and others. She studied street dance, flamenco, afro, ballet, modern and contemporary dance, in order to expand her knowledge in dance.
In 2012 she obtained her first Masters Degree in Choreography at Laban, the most rewarded dance academy in the UK. In September 2013 she finished her second Masters Degree in Arts Administration and Cultural Policy at Goldsmiths and now she’s a full time dance teacher and choreographer, and the Creative Director of Reflex Dance Studios. From April Giulia will be in Panama and Costa Rica to choreograph Dancing with the Stars in both countries.
